A little more than 50 years ago, singer-songwriter Stephen Stills met singer-songwriter Judy Collins, known for her piercing ocean blue eyes. Their tumultuous love affair would later be immortalized by Stills with his composition ?Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,? performed by Crosby, Stills & Nash on their landmark debut. Both artists would go on to shape modern music with visionary approaches, but Stills and Collins? short fiery union remains a transformative era for the two artists. Now the two icons of folk return to the Playhouse performing songs from their rich catalogs along with songs from their 2017 album ?Everybody Knows.?

Recipient of a 2017 MacArthur Genius Grant, Rhiannon Giddens is the co-founder of the Grammy award-winning string band Carolina Chocolate Drops, in which she also plays banjo and fiddle. Her two solo albums, the Grammy award-nominated Tomorrow Is My Turn (2015) and Freedom Highway (2017), masterfully blend American musical genres like gospel, jazz, blues, and country, showcasing her extraordinary emotional range and dazzling vocal prowess. Giddens received the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Singer of the Year and has won the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Bluegrass and Banjo.

Giddens, who studied opera at Oberlin, made her acting debut with a recurring role on the television drama ?Nashville,? playing the role of Hanna Lee ?Hallie? Jordan, a young social worker with ?the voice of an angel.?

Trace Adkins? trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts, including ?You?re Gonna Miss This,? ?Arlington,? ?Every Light In the House? and the Blake Shelton song ?Hillbilly Bone,? on which he?s featured. The three-time GRAMMY-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author, and spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised more than $1.5 million dollars as winner of NBC?s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. In recent years, Adkins has performed for our service men and women across 12 USO Tours. In his 2007 autobiography, A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck, he recounted his rise to fame, brushes with death and battles with personal demons. Adkins has played a tough-as-nails biker in The Lincoln Lawyer, a desperate father in Deepwater Horizon, and a wise oracle of a tattoo artist in the family-friendly film Moms? Night.
