Hailing from opposite ends of the Appalachian mountains, husband-and-wife duo Zoe & Cloyd is renowned fiddler and vocalist Natalya Zoe Weinstein and award-winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist John Cloyd Miller. Their show is as diverse as their upbringing. Coming from a line of klezmer and jazz musicians, Natalya trained classically in her home state of Massachusetts while John, a twelfth generation North Carolinian, is the grandson of pioneering bluegrass fiddler, Jim Shumate. Founding members of the acclaimed Americana trio, Red June and long-time veterans of the Asheville, NC music scene, the couple shifted to their duet project after the birth of their daughter in 2015.

With deep roots in American music, Zoe & Cloyd released their second full-length album, Eyes Brand New, in April 2017. Highlighting their emotive songwriting and signature harmonies, this new recording finds the duo returning to a full band sound with Kevin Kehrberg on bass, and special appearances from Will Straughan of Red June on dobro and Jens Kruger of the Kruger Brothers on banjo. Eyes Brand New showcases the breadth of their collective musical spirit, seamlessly combining original folk, country, old-time and bluegrass with sincerity and zeal. A new concept for a new year! Once a month, on a Friday to be announced, we'll be bringing a one-off, one-of-a-kind show to the clubs of the Triad. A variety show, if you will - a rotating "house band," lots of guests, one-off mini-sets by veteran bands, new bands, pickup bands ... anything goes! A different theme, a different vibe, every month. We hope to include as many Triad musicians and bands as possible. And the best part is that it's all for charity! The proceeds from each show will benefit a different area non-profit. If you're interested in getting involved, let us know - pitch us ideas! We want fun, off-the-cuff ideas, not just your usual set. Get creative, y'all!

Mood Cultivation Project formed in early 2000, intended as a one-time concert ?project.? Chemistry kept members Joel Woodson (bass), George Smith (guitar), Kelly Sanders (percussion) and Robby Gates (drums) together experimenting to find their sound. Later that year, Josh Casstevens (guitar) joined, followed by Joey Johnson (vocals, harmonica) in early 2001 and Tommy Smith (keys) in 2002. Drawing from many different influences including their Appalachian roots, the band created a sound uniquely their own; blending rock, country, jam, psychedelia and more. The band performed hundreds of shows between 2000-2007 opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band, Drive By Truckers, many other national artists, as well as playing many music festivals and other venues. In 2002, MCP recorded and released a self-titled live album followed by the 2004 studio release, ?In This Space and Time.? Before they recorded the next album, the group disbanded in 2007. Everyone from the band continued to play music in various settings over the next several years, including eventually, Brickfoot Down; which by 2014, included six members of MCP. Catalyzed by a desire to help a friend of the band, Mood Cultivation Project reunited for a concert on 4-25-15 with Jonathan McMillan on drums. Tickets for the show quickly sold out. The show was a great success and refueled the chemistry that drove the band initially. Tragically, only a few weeks later, founding member and percussionist, Kelly Sanders, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 37. Although changed forever, the group plans to plow forward, beginning a new chapter for Mood Cultivation.

The Muddy Creek Players are the official house band of the Muddy Creek Music Hall. Founded in May 2015, by singer/songwriter Bill Heath, the band is a diverse group of musicians, performing original compositions, and timeless music from several decades. Bill (vocals/guitar) is accompanied by Shelly Stevens (vocals), Davidson Smith (drums), Ken Nocito (trumpet/keys/vocals),, Carlos Tolbert (sax/flute), Chad Huskey (guitar/vocals), and Evan Bryant (bass).

Having only been together since the Summer of 2009, Big Daddy Love-- founded by high school friends from the rural mountains of Sparta, NC-- was just playing a handful of North Carolina markets when they made their first trip to Floyd in 2010, where they won the prestigious "Under The Radar" contest for the best new artist at the large, Virginia festival. The fresh, vital sound and energized performance of this new band simply blew people away, and with the fan-voted award under their belts, Big Daddy Love returned home and began to build their grass roots following in earnest.

Big Daddy Love is a five-piece band with a unique and natural blend of rock, roots and grass that they call ?Appalachian Rock?. Above the mix, the lead vocals and acoustic guitar accompaniment of their principal songwriter, Scott Moss, command the listener's attention and call for the harmonies that arise in response. Twin leads of Stratocaster riffs and soaring Allman-esque slide guitar on the one hand, and 5-string Scruggs / Fleck style banjo on the other-- like a typical Southern rock line-up, just replacing the second guitar with the banjo-- punctuate and emphasize what Moss delivers. These contrasting voices are anchored by a rhythm section that is equally at home in a groove or driving the bus with country, swing, funk or straight ahead rock. Big Daddy Love's high-energy performances, fueled by this combination of fiery vocals, striking instrumental dynamics that range from bombastic assaults to soothing grooves, have garnered them a strong, passionate following throughout their home region

This band is comprised of 5 best friends, who, with their feet placed firmly on Rocky Mountain soil, look attentively towards the Blue Ridge Mountains and the rich tradition of Bluegrass music there. They explore traditions of Swedish fiddle music, Acoustic Jazz, Old-time, and Classical, and their original music is steeped in heartbreak and mountain breezes. You will hear intricately arranged, soaring instrumentals. You will hear hard-driving, traditional Bluegrass music. Most importantly, however, you will hear five best friends play a music that is much larger than the sum of it?s parts. ?

With repertoire ranging from straight-and-narrow gospel standards to original ballads about drinking whiskey 'till ya kick the bucket. The band features an all-star cast of convention ribbon winners, including: Mason Via (guitar), Zeb Gambill (mandolin), Grayson "Pinky" Tuttle (banjo), Sam Weiss (Caleb Clauder Country Band) on fiddle, and Zachary Smith (of Town Mountain) on bass.
