Jeremy Steding & The Rebellion

Jeremy Steding?s fifth studio album, Odessa, travels hard. Along the ride, love is won and lost, whiskey is spilled and life?s meaning is questioned. Immediately, your heart rate rises to meet the rhythm of the gritty title track, a driving song that paints an ominous picture of the west Texas namesake.

Steding draws inspiration from vintage country and western music, traditional folk and early rock n' roll. His music falls between the folk/country stylings of Jerry Jeff Walker and the stone cold country sound of Merle Haggard. Raised in a musical Florida family, on the railroad sounds of Johnny Cash and the jingle jangle of The Byrds, his musical preference leaned country from an early age. It was while attending the University of Florida, that Steding was turned onto Texas/Red Dirt Music. Long a fan of Willie and Waylon, he was now digging into Cory Morrow and Robert Earl Keen as well. Texas called to him...
?
Steding packed all his belongings into a Ford Explorer Sport Trac and headed to Austin, in April of 2007. Over the years, he has become a staple in the Texas/Red Dirt scene sharing the stage with artists such as The Turnpike Troubadours, Kevin Fowler and Clint Black. Inspired by the Texas dance hall tradition, the music has grown more traditional over the course of the years and the dance floor stays packed when his band performs.
In June '16, Steding relocated to Nashville, TN, where he would spend over a year before his heart reminded him that Texas was where he and his music belonged. The whole Steding family, Jeremy, Tiffini and son, Jack, will be moving back to Austin in December 2017.
"I Need A Texas Song," inspired by Texas homesickness, is the third single from the new album, and may be his best radio cut to date; it's upbeat, catchy and danceable.
Becoming a husband and dad, along with ten years of truck stops, sawdust and soul-searching have done him good. Expect 2018 to be a great year for Jeremy Steding and The Rebellion.
