9.30: Dzakpa Ewe Ensemble: Andrew Wiseman is a Master Percussionist from Ghana, West Africa. He is from the Ewe ethnic group; born into a family of master storytellers and drummers and has played numerous roles in movies and stage productions
Andrew represented the African continent in various cultural shows
He was a featured drummer on the HBO series Treme and Zoo, on CBS. He is also the 212th recipient of the prestigious Mardi Gras Indian Hall of Fame Drumbeat
10.45 pm: The Afrodiziac's Jazz :Formed in New Orleans, LA, The Afrodisiac's have taken their own perspective on the music of Mulatu Astake, other Ethiopian composers, as well as other African music, and juxtaposed it alongside jazz fusion, bebop, and a diverse array of the many influences of each member. Featuring tenor saxophone, trombone, keys, vocals, bass, and percussion, they provide intricate rhythms, bombastic horn lines, and tasty grooves tempered with jazz sensibilities and a focus on improvisation.
Midnight: Second Hand Street Band: Established in 2015, the SHSB is a collective of musicians from all over the US and abroad who, one way or another, ended up in New Orleans, Louisiana. A collection of locals, transplants, and, itinerants, this ensemble performs a concoction jazz, funk, and other horn-driven musical styles.With over 40 regular members spanning at least 5 or 6 countries, the group is an ever-changing assortment of entertaining street performers, who all share the common goal of bringing music, comedy, and enjoyment to those around them.
