Jann Klose is an award-winning pop singer-songwriter, who has released five albums and two EPs. Jann was raised in Kenya, South Africa, Germany, and the United States and now resides in New York City. His music has been streamed over 1,000,000 times online and his song ?Make It Better? is featured on the Billboard Top 10 charting compilation album ?Action Moves People United.? His new single ?Don?t Give Up? (Peter Gabriel) featuring vocal legend and visual artist Annie Haslam of the classical rock group Renaissance, is now available worldwide and his new album IN TANDEM will be released by Gallo Records in 2018. Jann is an ambassador for Desmond Tutu?s Tutudesk campaign.

Jann?s most recent solo album, MOSAIC featuring ?Make It Better? entered the Roots Rock charts at #22 and won three 2014 Independent Music Awards. The record also made the first round of the 2014 Grammys® in the categories Pop Vocal Album and Album Of The Year.

His voice is featured in the movie ?Greetings From Tim Buckley? (Universal) as the voice of Tim Buckley starring Penn Badgley and Imogen Poots. His songs have been heard on the Grammy® nominated ?Healthy Food For Thought? compilation as well as MTV Cribs and movies ?Dead Broke? (Warner Bros) featuring Paul Sorvino and ?A Venue For The End Of The World? (BrinkVision) featuring Dick Cavett and Ian Anderson. Most recently Jann scored the music for the award-winning short ?The Beauty of Disaster.?

He has performed as an actor and singer in touring companies of Broadway musicals, including ?Jesus Christ Superstar,? ?Jekyll & Hyde,? and ?The Who?s Tommy.? In 2005, the off-Broadway production ?Moonlight Interior,? a musical based on Klose?s music, premiered in New York City.

Jann Klose has periodically collaborated with members of classical rock group Renaissance and tours regularly in the U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia. Signed as an Origin recording artist in 2014, Green?s growing portfolio of vibrant sounds has garnered multiple awards and has captured the attention of critics around the world. His work has been featured in the San Diego Union Tribune, the Boston Globe, DownBeat Magazine, Jazziz, and Public Radio International.

Green?s trio, including bassist Justin Grinnell and drummer Julien Cantelm, were a featured group at this summer?s San Jose Jazz Festival. They have performed at the Blue Whale in Los Angeles, TEDxSanDiego, UC San Diego, Cal Arts at CSU Monterey Bay, the Museum of Making Music, Jazz88.3?s Jazz Live, the KSDS Ocean Beach Jazz Festival, the Marine View Church Jazz Live series in Tacoma, Tula?s Jazz Club in Seattle, Shapeshifter Lab in NYC, the Pasadena Playhouse District Jazz Series, and many other prominent venues and festivals.

Make Music Middletown is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the city.

What is Make Music Middletown?

Make Music Middletown is a part of the international Make Music Day movement which brings free, community-wide, outdoor musical celebrations to hundreds of cities worldwide! Every year, the celebration is held on June 21, the summer solstice, in more than 800 communities around the world.

Make Music Middletown will feature musicians of all abilities and music from any genre. Sidewalks, parks, front porches, and public spaces throughout the region will become stages for local musicians to perform and for all to enjoy. Everyone is invited to participate in this international day of music by performing, providing an outdoor space, appreciating, or volunteering.

All are welcome to participate- no experience necessary! Join a diverse community of musicians and help fill every nook and cranny in Middletown with music.

Make Music Middletown is brought to you by the City of Middletown Arts Office/Middletown Commisssion on the Arts along with the stakeholders whether artist or venue as part of our mission to contribute to the cultural identity, economy and quality of life of Middletown supporting arts, heritage, cultural and business activities and organizations.

Make Music Middletown is modeled after a Parisian tradition (Fête de la Musique) that began in 1982 as a tribute to the Summer Solstice. More specifically, each June 21st Paris is filled with musicians of all kinds performing on sidewalks, lawns, balconies, in parks, etc. for anyone to enjoy at no cost. In 2007, Fête de la Musique crossed the Atlantic with the debut of Make Music New York. Ever since, cities around the world have been starting their own Make Music days.

In 2017, a number of CT cities and arts alliances, in partnership with the CT Office of the Arts, felt it was time to bring this celebration come to CT!!
