Restless Heart lead singer Larry Stewart can remember the exact moment and place his life began to change forever.
?I was driving east on I-40 from West Nashville into town to an appointment,? he recalls. ?Back then, I was listening to what we were doing in my Jeep Cherokee every day. I had turned the radio on, and ?Let The Heartache Ride? was right in the middle of the acapella intro.?
Stewart had been living with the song for a while, and hearing it through his car speakers wasn?t that big of a deal ? until he looked at the stereo and saw the numbers 97.9. ?It didn?t sink in because I had it in the tape deck for days, then I realized ?That?s the radio. It?s WSIX.? I pulled over on the shoulder around White Bridge Road and sat there with my car idling. It was like yesterday.?
?Yesterday? has come full circle for Restless Heart. Then one of Nashville?s newest acts, the band is celebrating their 30th Anniversary in 2013, and Dave Innis enjoys the musical ride as much as ever.
?I think it?s been an amazing legacy, and it?s been such an honor to have been part of an organization that is still together doing it after thirty years with the same five original guys, and it?s more fun than ever.?
John Dittrich, Greg Jennings, Paul Gregg, Dave Innis, and Larry Stewart ? the men who make up Restless Heart have enjoyed one of the most successful careers in Country Music history, placing over 25 singles on the charts ? with six consecutive #1 hits, four of their albums have been certified Gold by the RIAA, and they have won a wide range of awards from many organizations ? including the Academy of Country Music?s Top Vocal Group trophy. Those stats aside, Innis feels that their career goes much deeper than that.
?In the past few years, we have really started to branch out in the community, particularly our work with the Nashville Rescue Mission. We have hosted an event called Restless Heart & Friends ? Music With A Mission that we do at the Schermerhorn Center with the Nashville Symphony. We invite a lot of our friends in the industry across all genres to join us, and all of the money we raise goes to the Nashville Rescue Mission. The other thing that stands out is the tours we have done in support of the men and women of the Armed Forces. We did some tours with the Air Force, going all over the world.?
Those audiences have sung along with their record-shattering string of hits, such as ?I?ll Still Be Loving You,? ?Fast Movin? Train? and ?When She Cries.? Stewart says it?s humbling to know Restless Heart has made an impact. ?I?m proud of the fact that we get to hear stories from young artists and musicians that we might have made an impression or inspiring them to come to town ? having number one records, and hearing the stories of what they meant to people. To know that you have been a part of something that made a difference, the power of music, the power of a song. To be a part of something that made a mark. However big or small of a mark Restless Heart made, it?s still a mark. To be able to appreciate and feel blessed that we got lucky enough to get together. I feel like it was something that was meant to be.?
And, the story is far from over, as Stewart says Restless Heart still has a lot of history to make. ?We are still at the top of our game when it comes to singing and playing together. We?ve got some projects we?re working on, and we want to put the Restless Heart brand out to music fans again ? to let them know we?re still here and making good music. We?re really looking forward, not trying to rest on our past laurels, we really want to do some new music. We have some fun things we?re considering to celebrate the moment, which we?re trying to put together, and reintroduce ourselves to the world, and take another stab at something.?

D.O.A
Canada?s legendary Punk Kings,who helped spread punk rock counterculture around the world, approach a momentous milestone. For nearly 25 years D.O.A. has been happily slashing away at all manner of philosophical enemies. They?ve travelled the globe almost continuously since they formed in 1978; they released their first snarling piece of vinyl, the "Disco Sucks" EP in June of that year. That slab of plastic opened the door to international prominence, riots, rip-off record companies and three generations of fans.

In 1981, D.O.A. made the term "hardcore" their own and pushed it into the common vernacular with their legendary album "Hardcore 81" and subsequent tours. Consequently, D.O.A. has been cited as a major influence for tons of bands ranging from The Red Hot Chili Peppers to Green Day to Rancid to The Offspring. They followed that up with their ground breaking EP "War on 45" and "Bloodied But Unbowed."

D.O.A. has always worn their politics on their sleeves.They?ve done a lot shit disturbing along the way.They?ve been harassed and busted and survived all that crap. D.O.A.?s blatant slogan,TALK-ACTION=0 sums it all up.

The stuff the band?s worked on through the years; they?ve played benefits for Rape Relief, anti-racism, rock-for brains, anti-globalization, OXFAM, first nations rights, anti censorship and environmental causes amongst many others.

D.O.A.?s sound and philosophy has been held together by Canada?s Godfather of punk Joey "Shithead" Keithley?s songwriting, singing and guitar playing. D.O.A.?s sound, although always rooted in punk rock, has managed to create a fair bit of consternation for those who would like to choose musical boxes. It?s punk, but it incorporates rock n? roll, reggae, metal,and ska. Whatever the hell their sound is, it?s pulled out a "Yeah, that?s the shit!" from the likes of Henry Rollins, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, Jello Biafra, Bif Naked, John Doe, Randy Bachman, Dave Grohl, Pete Seeger, Yada, Yada, Yada, you get the picture.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary, Sudden Death has released the definitive D.O.A. album, "War and Peace," a 25-track compilation of D.O.A.?s greatest recorded moments. War and Peace starts at the roots of "Disco Sucks", "The Enemy" and "Liar For Hire" right through to their modern blitzkrieg sound of "Dead Men Tell No Tales" and "Just Say No To The WTO."

D.O.A. will blast through live shows with their new rock solid lineup of Joey, Floor Tom Jones on drums and bassist Randy Rampage. Watch for extensive touring in Canada and around the world in 2007 and beyond.

In 2003, Shithead?s first book "I Shithead,a life in punk" came out on Arsenal Pulp Press. It is a definitive and raunchy look at punk and the spread of counter culture throughout western society. Sudden Death has also released "Let?s Start The Action," an electronic tribute to D.O.A. performed by 20 different artists from around the world and inspired by the anti-globalization movement. As well, Sudden Death has recently re-released D.O.A.?s 1st two albums"Something Better Change" and "Hardcore 81", recently picked as two of the top 5 Canadian punk rock albums of all time. A full length documentary on D.O.A. "Talk-Action=0" is being developed by filmmaker Marcus Rogers [The Widower].

D.O.A. has travelled a long, tough road that has taken them around the world and the raw energy continues. The band has never been more active, having recently released their second DVD, D.O.A.?s "Greatest Shits" and a split album with metal legend Thor entitled "Are U Ready". Recently Mayor Larry Campbell of Vancouver declared December 21st to be "D.O.A. Day" in Vancouver.The band has also been featured in punk and political books published around the world.

M.D.C

Formed in late 1970s as The Stains and playing their first gig under this name in August 1980, MDC were one of three pioneering hardcore punk bands in Austin, Texas, in the early '80s, alongside The Dicks and Big Boys. These bands frequently played together and established the Austin hardcore scene. They released one single as the Stains in 1981, featuring a slower version of the future MDC song "John Wayne Was a Nazi" backed with "Born to Die".[1][2] Both songs were later released on the debut MDC album.

By 1982 the band had relocated to San Francisco, California, and renamed themselves MDC. By this point the band were active participants in the growing hardcore scene and released their debut LP Millions of Dead Cops on their own label, R Radical; Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles helped with distribution. The album is now widely considered a punk classic, and features songs such as "John Wayne Was a Nazi", "Dick for Brains", and the harsh criticism of the police, "I Remember". Other targets of criticism devoid of irony included capitalism ("Corporate Death Burger"), homophobia ("America's So Straight"),[3] and American culture ("Violent Rednecks").

During the summer of 1982 they became involved in the Rock Against Reagan Tour, during which time they fell out with the band Bad Brains when Rastafarian singer H.R. learned that Big Boys' singer, Randy Turner, was gay. H.R. and MDC's Dave Dictor had an intense confrontation. Upon Bad Brains' departure from the bill, they refused to return a loan owed to Big Boys and instead left a note that reportedly read, "burn in hell bloodclot faggot." The incident resulted in the MDC song Pay to Come Along.[4] For MDC, 1982 ended with a tour of Europe with the Dead Kennedys which brought the band greater exposure in the punk scene outside of the U.S., especially in the UK.

MDC's singer, Dave Dictor, returned with an entirely new backing line-up in 2000, which included Long Island musicians Matt Van Cura,(bass) Erik Mischo,(guitar) and John Soldo,(Drums). MDC released a new album, Magnus Dominus Corpus, in 2004. They took part in a 25th anniversary world tour in 2005, with an all-original lineup. Following the death of Mikey Donaldson in September 2007, MDC has been touring the U.S. and Europe extensively with the Dictor/Posner/Smith/Schvitz lineup.

Grant Ferguson

Propulsive, melodic rock guitar in the hands of Grant Ferguson is a powerful reminder of the instrument?s glory days. Influenced by some of the great axe masters: Jeff Beck, Gary Moore David Gilmour and others, Ferguson is pushing his all-instrumental sound toward a new rock vision.

Based near Red Lodge, MT Grant is a local breakout independent recording artist who has released 3 albums, multiple singles and composed award-winning music for film and dance. He has toured extensively throughout the US and now calls Montana home, where he?s assembled a ?super group? of local musicians - Clay Green (drums), Erik Olson (keys) and John Keebler (bass). His high energy, melodic rock shows are getting a lot of attention in Billings, and beyond.

In his debut CD, ?Decay & Devotion? (Melodik Records, 2011), Ferguson explores a broad array of sounds, some reminiscent of early Jeff Beck (?Euphoric Recall?), others more evocative of Joe Satriani (?April Song,? ?November?), still others full of haunting, celtic-tinged beauty (?Gratitude,? ?From the Throne? and ?Devotion?). His version of ?The Loner,? a tribute to the late Gary Moore, ranks among the best cover versions of the tune, and raves are rolling in.

On the heels of Grant Ferguson?s stunning debut CD came ?Toward the Light? (Melodik Records, 2013), another high-energy, masterfully composed collection of original melodic rock. Like the material on his first album, Grant?s compositions cover a broad palette, from the energetic title track to the Gimouresque ?Dark Soul?, to the movie-score worthy ?Persephone? or the haunting, celtic-sounding ?Tender Heart? and ?Tears of St Kilda.? Grant?s cover of Oasis? ?Wonderwall? is his first vocal recording and this powerful and evocative rock version easily rivals that of the original.

Most recently, Grant released a 3rd EP - ?Departure? (2017). This collection of original instrumental rock brings power and beauty together in a truly unique way. Tracks such as ?Relentless? and "December Sky," the prog rock anthem "Gods of the Norse? and the haunting ?Perpetua? are favorites at his live shows.

This powerful guitarist and composer continues to refine his unique melodic and harmonic sense, an evolution showcased beautifully in his recorded work and live shows.

There?s nothing like a great melodic guitar sound, and now there?s a new star on the horizon.



Parker Brown

Specializing in double bass, electric bass and guitar, Parker Brown is a private instructor, songwriter, and freelance and studio musician. He grew up surrounded by music, spending many hours around his father?s bands and extensive record collection. From an early age he went to gigs, rehearsals, and even on a few tours with his dad. Ever since he was a young kid Parker dreamed of being a musician.

Now, Parker is a private instructor and freelance musician of eight years. At his private studio in Allied Music he manages a full studio of bassists and guitarists with skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced. Parker also works as an adjunct faculty member at Sheridan College, Rocky Mountain College and Montana State University Billings. He currently performs with well-known projects in the region such as: Parker Brown and the Bleeding Hearts, Big Sky Trio, Grant Jones, Whitney Center Big Band, Kyle Shobe and the Walk ?em Boys, Wordsongs with Poet Dave Caserio, and the Rimrock Hot Club.

As a freelance musician Parker has performed with jazz musicians Jeff Hamilton, Ronnie Bedford, Jack Walrath, John Stowell, Ronnie Blake, John Harbaugh, and Nick Mancini.

As a studio musician Parker has recorded bass and guitar on over twenty albums, working primarily with Base Camp Studio in Bozeman, MT.

He recently released his first solo album, We Were Young.
