Maïmouna Youssouf

Fresh off of her American Music Abroad tour throughout Central America where she served as a musical ambassador for The United States, Maimouna Youssef aka Mumu Fresh is ready to share her latest musical creations with the world. Baltimore born, and DC raised, with a name and presence that makes you wonder ?what part of the world is she from?? Maimouna Youssef is a global citizen, a musical healer, a cultural philanthropist and a community pillar.

Since receiving a GRAMMY-Nomination for her vocal contribution to The Roots hit ?Don?t Feel Right? in 2007, the singer, emcee, songwriter, activist, mentor and workshop facilitator has been making waves in the international Indie music scene as a solo and accompanying artist.

Maimouna Youssef has shared stages with music giants such as Sting, Nas, Common, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Ed Sheeran, Queen Latifah, Bobby Mcferrin, Jill Scott, D?Angelo, Aloe Blacc, Bruno Mars, Jussie Smollett, Fred Yonnet, Dave Chappelle, Yasiin Bey, Angelique Kidjo, Lalah Hathaway, Femi Kuti, and more. Mumu Fresh has traveled the world wide as a supporting vocalist for legends such as Congolese Vocal Acapella group Zap Mama, Late night Jimmy Fallon?s band, The Roots and is currently on tour with Grammy & Oscar award winner, Common.

This Duke Ellington School of The Arts graduate has a discography that spans from 2006 to present day with 6 solo and group projects under her belt. She released her highly anticipated and widely praised first full-length solo album, ?The Blooming,? in September 2011. The leading single ?I Got A Man? produced by award winning DJ Jazzy Jeff went on to become selected as the theme music to BET?s original series Being Mary Jane. In 2016 Maimouna recorded a full-length project with GRAMMY Award Winning producer 9th Wonder and The Soul Council and most recently in 2017 she released another full-length album with producer and Musical Director for J. Cole, DJ Dummy the Genius. The 17-track all original album entitled Vintage Babies featuring TDE?s SIR, Common, Malik Yusef and Ra Brown is already making its mark on the international music scene with its single ?Shine Your Light? placing at number 6 on UK Indie music charts. In the same year she teamed back up with DJ Jazzy Jeff to lend her vocals and penmanship to his group project ?Chasing Goosebumps? by The Playlist featuring Glenn Lewis.
Maimouna Youssef?s film credits include a spot on the soundtrack of OWN network?s Queen Sugar with international rapper Oddisee, a cameo performance in the 2017 Hit movie ?Girls? Trip?, and let?s not forget her memorable performance in the 2007 hip hop documentary film ?Dave Chappelle?s Block Party?.

Maimouna has rocked the stages of many renowned venues and festivals such as Denver Colorado?s Red Rocks Amphitheater, New York City?s Legendary Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, The Kennedy Center with The National Symphony Orchestra, & Carter Barron Amphitheater, Art of Cool Festival in Durham NC, and Beverly Bond?s Black Girls Rock in NYC, as well as international festivals and venues such as Switzerland?s Montreux Jazz Festival, South Africa?s Cape Town Jazz Festival, the legendary New Africa Shrine in Lagos, Nigeria, The Ruben Dario National Theater in Managua Nicaragua, The Capital Jazz Cruise & The Recording Academy?s ?GRAMMY?s Festival At Sea?!

Behind the scenes, Youssef serves as a Governor for the DC chapter of the Recording Academy?s Grammy Board as well as a mentor for several Grammy U affiliated young aspiring artists. In 2016 she launched her very own artist development company, MKY Entertainment Group. She has received recognition from several local non-profit organizations such as One Common Unity, Bmore News, & Womb Work Productions as well as Mayor Luis Fernando Castellanos Cal of Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico for her outstanding service and commitment to the youth worldwide. DJ Dummy

Dummy is an unlikely name for a mastermind, but don?t be fooled by the name. This Battle, Club and renowned Concert DJ who adds Musical Director and Producer to his resume hails from Brooklyn, New York. Growing up, the DJ influence was always around, watching and listening to both his father and brother DJ. This early exposure sparked his love of music, and by the tender age of 7 he had his hands on the turntables.

COLD CAVE

Cold Cave is the electronic music of acclaimed musician, writer and artist Wesley Eisold. Beginning in 2007, Cold Cave has become a name synonymous with the contemporary resurgence of Darkwave and Synth Pop sub-genres, propelling Cold Cave to perform at world class museums The Getty and the Guggenheim, as well as performances with legends Sonic Youth, The Jesus and Mary Chain, among others. The sound has spanned from experimental industrial noise to rock'n'roll influenced electronic music.

According to the Guardian, "Wesley Eisold is an absolutely new, young god of nihilism and despair ? he brilliantly captures Cold Cave's aesthetic: the Morrissey of How Soon Is Now wailing over Nitzer Ebb beats and New Order melodies."

According to Eisold, if anything, his music reflects what it feels like to live in the present. Eisold, whose baritone is as rich and resonating as that of Phil Oakey, Nick Cave or Iggy Pop, says "Of course we love the lineage of the genre, early experiments with machines to convey human emotion; the marriage between pop and industrial music. At the time it was documenting the early stages of a new world, and we are recording what it feels like to be alive in that world."

Choir Boy consists of Adam Klopp (vocal, synths, guitar, piano, percussion and sequencing), Katrina Marie Rick Peterson (vocals), Bret Meisenbach (guitar), Jacob Hall (drums), Kyle Hooper (keys) and Chaz Costello (bass), with strings by Alyssa Pyper.

Tracyanne & Danny is a new collaborative project between singer-songwriters Tracyanne Campbell (Camera Obscura) and Danny Coughlan (Crybaby).

Tracyanne hails from Glasgow, Scotland. London-born Danny is based in Bristol, England. Their paths first crossed in 2013 when introduced by mutual music industry pals. Tracyanne dug Danny?s Crybaby album (released on Helium Records) and invited him to open some Camera Obscura shows in the UK. Mutual artistic respect led to the swapping of song ideas, but tentative plans to work together were set aside while Camera Obscura wrote, recorded, released, and promoted their fifth album Desire Lines. Following the death of Camera Obscura?s Carey Lander, all band activity stopped. Time passed.

Tracyanne and Danny revisited the idea of collaborating. A pool of songs were honed and crafted. On the suggestion of their manager (and Teenage Fanclub drummer) Francis Macdonald, they recorded at Clashnarrow, a studio in Helmsdale in the highlands of Scotland owned by the esteemed Edwyn Collins. Sessions took place throughout 2016 and 2017. Edwyn co-produced along with engineer and multi-instrumentalist Sean Read (Dexys). They had the use of Edwyn?s vintage gear (including the guitar pedal which features on his global hit ?A Girl Like You?) as they invoked a range of shared influences: The Roches, Dion, Lou Reed, The Flamingos, Serge Gainsbourg, Santo & Johnny, and The Style Council. Edywn pops up with a guest vocal on first single ?Alabama,? an intentionally ?joyous? tribute to Tracyanne?s late friend and band mate Carey Lander.

Tracyanne & Danny is not a diverting curio or a wee stop on the road to someplace else. It is a shared artistic aesthetic, forged over time. They have figured out how to fit round each other and work together, creating a rewarding musical synergy. There will be more songs. Meanwhile, they are looking forward to releasing and promoting the first fruits of their labors with live shows throughout UK, Europe, North America, and beyond.

A non-stop, fun- loving musical journey that?s as good for the head as it is for the soul. So get ready to get up, get set and get down as Talking Dreads take you joyriding in their tour-de-force debut!

Talking Dreads began as a project born from the audacious notion that hardcore Heads-lovers wouldn?t mind a tinkering or two with their favorite Talking Heads tunes, and there is a lot of great music here that will make you stop, listen and smile a little bit more as you?re grooving along to the joyous rhythms and jubilant spirit of the island vibe.

Talking Dreads is the brainchild of Head Dread, Mystic Bowie, a Jamaican artist whose long and close relationship with Chris Franz and Tina Weymouth, founding members of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, began when he joined the latter group as a singer in 1996. He then recorded and performed with Tom Tom Club for nearly twenty years and continues to bear fruit from their unending collaborations.

Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters are on tour with their latest album, a self-titled disc released June 9, 2017 on Organic Records. Lyrically driven, the songs of Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters blend the band?s old-school country roots attitude with their shared influences of rock and folk. Amanda says of the album, ?I think it's just about life and all that that entails. Including but not limited to death, strangers, birthdays, money, leaving, arriving, seasons, corruption, and love.?

?This is a band that does everything right,? says Goldmine?s Mike Greenblatt. ?Platt deserves all that might come to her over this, her fifth (and best) album. Backed by pedal steel, electric guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, percussion, and vocal harmony, it?s Platt?s show as she writes, sings and co-produces. Complete with lyrics of introspection with the kind of words you can chew on long after the album ends, it also works on a lighter level by dint of the fact that it just sounds so damn good. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Amanda is a storyteller by nature with an incredible band backing her. Performing along with Amanda Anne Platt, The Honeycutters are Matt Smith on pedal steel and guitar, Rick Cooper on bass, Josh Milligan on drums and harmony vocals, and Evan Martin on keys and guitar.

There is an empathetic and charming wit ingrained in Amanda?s songwriting. She has a knack for accessing a deep well of emotion and applying it to her story-telling, whether she is writing from her own experiences or immersing herself into the melody of emotions in another person's life.
