Join us as we welcome Gil Vernon of Uncle Gilly?s Maple Syrup for a truly ?sweet? dinner. As the main supplier of maple syrup for The Lakely, Gil is far more than just a mere maple syrup producer. With his small sugarbush in northern Dunn County, he utilizes the spring sap run as a chance to gather his friends and family to his land and make a veritable communion out of the process.
For this dinner, Chef Nathan Berg will be creating a six-course dinner which will showcase the amazing versatility of one of Wisconsin?s truly native sources of sugar. Additionally, Lakely Head Bartender Logan Slaght will also be offering for purchase some creative craft cocktails utilizing this drink-friendly treat. And of course, Gil himself will be on hand to explain the finer details of the process that turns this spring spectacle into the dark, sweet ingredient that we all know and love. But more importantly, Gil will almost certainly share some of his wonderfully poetic lessons about the things that maple syrup ? and its production ? can teach us all about life here in the Upper Midwest.
