Library Advocate - Library Advocate is solo Folk Americana that recently relocated to The Black Hills from Sioux Falls, South Dakota after being swept up with nostalgia over his college days in Spearfish. Brian Hoffman - an acoustic singer/songwriter who was born and raised in South Dakota. After getting his first guitar at the age of 13, he hasn't really set it down, since. Though he is an adequate guitar player, Hoffman's soul really shines through the strongest with his lyrics and his vocal performances. In 2017 he went on his first national tour, and will be venturing out again in March of 2018. Hoffman's influences have quite the range, his parents showed him the likes of acts such Bruce Springsteen, CCR, and Meatloaf at a young age. In his adolescent years he took a sharp turn towards punk, grunge and melodic hardcore bands such as Minor Threat, Nirvana, Jawbreaker, Alkaline Trio, Rise Against, Gaslight Anthem and more. He is also the co-founder and owner/operator of Loud, Broke, And Dumb Records. Hoffman is also very involved in suicide awareness and prevention, having put together two volumes of a compilation titled Press On, all proceeds from that are donated to local suicide awareness foundations, including The Helpline Center and Survivors Joining For Hope. Having lost close friends, as well as struggling with depression on his own, it is a cause that is very close to his heart.
