Bill Todd Quartet: Homecoming
Pausa Art House
19 Wadsworth St, Buffalo, NY, 14201
Jazz saxophonist and multiple woodwind performer, Bill Todd, developed a strong connection to music early in life through a bit of family tradition, very encouraging parents and many inspiring and influential teachers.
He has gone on to perform alongside a number of noteworthy artists and ensembles such as Joey DeFrancesco, Walt Weiskopf, Cyrille-Aimee, Randy Brecker, Bob Mintzer, Catherine Russel, the Ed Palermo Big Band and has toured extensively overseas and throughout North America.
His love for music came to life though performing with several ensembles in public school, regional big bands and his own jazz saxophone quartet during his teenage years where he grew up in Buffalo, NY. He continued his studies of jazz music at the Purchase College Conservatory of Music where he studied with many influential mentors as Eric Alexander, Jimmy Greene, Steve Wilson, Jon Gordon, and Pete Malinverni.
Following two years performing abroad on cruise ships and the national tour of Young Frankenstein: The Musical, he was inevitably drawn back to the inspirational talent pool of New York City. Performing regularly on piccolo, flute, alto flute, clarinet, bass clarinet and all the saxophones, he is proving to be a valuable asset to the NYC music scene. In May 2016, Bill earned his masters degree from New Jersey City University in multiple woodwind performance to further his mastery and expertise on the instruments that are his musical voice.
Currently, Bill lives in Brooklyn, NY and performs regularly with his own group, Bill Todd and the Sixth Generation, as a sideman, as a pit musician in various musical theater productions, conducts masterclasses and teaches privately as well.
