MLK Day of Service

Facebook Popularity:  ( 4+13)

Pendleton Center for the Arts

214 N Main St, Pendleton, OR, 97801

Did you know that Martin Luther King Day has been federally designated as a National Day of Service for more than 20 years? It's "a day on, not a day off," when people honor the work of Dr. King by pitching in to help in the community. Here at PCA we celebrated the Day of Service each year by bringing a big bunch of fun folks together for a morning of cleaning, painting, and sprucing up the Arts Center building.

Show up at 10:00 AM in work clothes and closed-toe shoes, and we'll put you on a team. Each team will tackle a room of the building for two hours, then we'll all gather for a Great Pacific pizza lunch at noon.

Last year we had more than 50 people here, and this year we're shooting for 100 (!). Be part of the crew, we'd love to have you! Kids 12 and up are welcome. Want more info? Give us a call at 541-278-9201.

"Overall, Sundae + Mr. Goessl is more than a vintage duo, their authenticity and commitment to the genre rings true, and the genuineness shines through in their renditions of these classic gems. The duo takes you through delightfully fun romps, to late night after hours sounds. Like listening to Billie Holiday, you feel you are taking two friends along with you on your day ? it has that instantan...

Slaid Cleaves

Brewminatti  ( 2+21)

Thu Jun 14 2018
Rolling Stone says - "Slaid Cleaves may be the Americana genre's most under-appreciated songwriter. With a knack for giving breath to perpetually down-on-their-luck characters on albums like 2000's excellent Broke Down, the Austin by way of Maine artist evokes writers from Guy Clark to Tom Petty, crafting detailed portraits of barflies, drifters and day laborers. On June 23rd 2017, he releases hi...
