Broadway?s Tyler Hanes performs a solo one-night-only show at THE BLACK BOX following his starring role as Rum Tum Tugger in the highly acclaimed revival of Cats on Broadway. Tyler was only 17 when he was discovered by Ann Reinking who cast him in the first national tour of the Tony Award winning musical, Fosse. He attended Carnegie Mellon University for one year before making his 2002 Broadway debut in the Broadway revival of Oklahoma! He appeared in the original Broadway companies of Urban Cowboy, The Boy From Oz, The Frogs, the 2005 revival of Sweet Charity, and as Larry in the original revival company of A Chorus Line. Tyler also appeared in the Broadway companies of Hairspray and the 2014 revival of On The Town, and has extensive off-Broadway and regional credits. His choreography was featured in a Broadway Medley starring Kristin Chenoweth on ?Dancing With The Stars, as well as in her Some Lessons Learned World Tour, ?Kristin Chenoweth: Coming Home" on PBS, ?The American Country Awards,? and the Latin American premiere of El Chico De Oz in Lima, Peru. Tyler is currently producing and starring in the upcoming dark comedy Ms. Guidance. Passionate about arts education, Tyler is a devoted teacher. He is a core faculty member with The Broadway Dreams Foundation as well as one of the founding faculty members of The Performing Arts Project. His relationship with FPAC and FSPA includes serving as celebrity guest teacher and performer for the annual Broadway in Franklin Weekends in 2014 and 2015. THE BLACK BOX is thrilled to feature Tyler in concert on our Broadway Series.
