Accomplished, vocalist, composer and arranger Kristina Koller will present music from her debut album ?Perception?. As one of the most applauded rising stars in jazz, Koller has developed quickly into a highly individual vocalist, melding jazz, funk, R&B and alt-rock sounds into her songs. Kristina arranges tunes in unique ways, knowing that adding to the legacy of jazz is much more important than recreating the performances of others. The New York native culled her musical chops in the NYC jazz scene, performing at venerable jazz haunts such as Smalls, Smoke, Minton?s, Mezzrow as well as The Apollo Theater. Kristina was a featured Discovery Artist at the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival and her quintet were semi-finalists in the 2017 DCJazzPrix competition.

Koller is a very original contemporary jazz vocalist, one that anyone interested in jazz, or for that matter progressive music, needs to hear.

Sloan were one of the most successful Canadian bands of the '90s, which was both a blessing and a curse. While they were well known in their homeland, where their Beatlesque power pop became a radio staple, they had a difficult time breaking into the American market, especially after their label, DGC, decided not to market their hooky pop in the wake of grunge. After spending several years fighting the label, and nearly breaking up, Sloan re-emerged in 1996 with One Chord to Another, a record that became an instant success in Canada and a critical sensation in the U.S. upon its American release in 1997, establishing the group as one of the leaders of the new wave of power pop groups in the late '90s.

Sloan is four distinct songwriting voices ? guitarists Patrick Pentland and Jay Ferguson, bassist Chris Murphy and drummer Andrew Scott ? that nonetheless form a cohesive collective. Long-time Toronto scenesters who will always call Halifax home.

Muchmusic and rock-radio regulars who ? via their own murderecords label ? maintain strong ties to their indie roots. Money-city maniacs who have a soft spot for sweet sugar tunes. At only 24 years of age, Oklahoma native Parker Millsap is quickly making a name for himself with his captivating live performances, soulful sound, and character-driven narratives. He recently wrapped up a banner year, which included his network television debut on CONAN, an invitation to play with Elton John at the Apple Music Festival, an Austin City Limits taping and an Americana Music Association nomination for Album of the Year, as well as winning the International Folk Music Awards' Artist Of the Year. Parker's most recent release, The Very Last Day, has received praise from The New York Times, The Boston Globe, LA Times, Austin Chronicle and Rolling Stone to name a few.

A trip to Nashville found Parker playing at the Tin Pan South songwriter's festival, where his performance impressed Old Crow Medicine Show's manager so much that he invited Parker to open a string of dates for the band, later leading to a slot on their New Year's Eve gig at the Ryman Auditorium. Parker has also opened dates for Jason Isbell, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Lake Street Dive, Lucinda Williams and Shovels & Rope.

?I like to set goals for myself that are impossible to reach,? he explains. ?That way, I always have something to aim for, a better song, different characters, new stories. I just want to pay the bills and feed my dog, and maybe buy a new guitar every now and then. That?s all I need. I don?t want to be Elvis Presley, but I wouldn?t complain if a million girls screamed for me, either. Just don?t tell my girlfriend that.? Welles is an American rock musician. He grew up in Ozark, Arkansas under the name Jeh Sea Wells. He began his career by releasing a song titled ?Summer.?
