Debora Iyall Group (of Romeo Void)

Debora Iyall is best known as the lead singer and lyricist of Romeo Void, a San Francisco band that mined the sexy veins of new wave music. Iyall is a fearless performer, a good time party girl one moment, a woman bravely baring the most intimate details of her soul the next. Her full band line-up goes by the moniker Debora Iyall Group - DIG. Most know Iyall from her Romeo Void hits ? 1981?s dance club and alternative radio staple ?Never Say Never? which was used in Martin Scorcese?s 2014 film ?Wolf of Wall St.? and 1984?s ?A Girl In Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing)? which brought them to Dick Clark?s American Bandstand in 1982 and was a Top 40 hit for the band. Debora?s recent recording output DIG?s Singing Until Sunrise is a collaboration with composer-guitarist Peter Dunne and DIG?s ?Watching The Detectives? was released to benefit The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, a tribute to Elvis Costello ?Beyond Belief?, on Spyder Pop Records. Iyall is a high school art teacher in Coachella Valley the past few years but she hasn?t been forgotten by her fans or her peers. With annual performances centered in the SF Bay Area she performed a sold out show with Barbara Manning at The Ivy Room in July of 2017 and with Chuck Prophet and Mission Express at the 2015 SF City Hall?s vast Centennial Celebration. DIG has performed at special events at the San Francisco Art Institute and rocked out in the sunshine at El Cerrito?s World One Concert. Cindy Lee Berryhill, John Doe, Dave Wakeling, Martha Davis, Terri Nunn, Translator and Wire Train have all invited her to participate in shows over the years.

On their 5th album, Blood Orange Moon, Felsen delivers a new telepathic message through melody and lyric beamed directly from their late-night West Oakland studio. Blood Orange Moon, is slated for national release by Indie pop label, Mystery Lawn Music on January 26, 2018. Listeners are reeled into Felsen?s revealing inner world of entangled branches, swarms of bees, unfolded paper cranes, private airlines, and kung fu medallion-wearing angel investors secretly typing in memory motels. There Felsen?s grudge match takes place between analog synth and cello, acoustic guitar and Reagan era drum machine, glockenspiel and fuzz box, reverb and tremolo, loud and just quiet enough to hear the gong shimmer. Frontman Andrew Griffin started Felsen after his 2006 cancer diagnosis, which led to the release of Felsen's first album, Accidental Drowning, in 2009. Felsen Loves You?an EP on the Ninth Street Opus label?followed in 2010, and in 2011 & 2013 two other full-length albums?Breaking up with Loneliness and I Don?t Know How To Talk Anymore were self-released. Felsen has toured extensively throughout the US opening for national acts: Camper Van Beethoven, Marcy Playground, One Eskimo, Stone Foxes and Luce. Felsen has been featured on Bay Area radio stations KPFA, KALX, KZSU and were selected to be on KFOG's Local Scene Volume 11. Felsen has performed at both the NoisePop & ULUV music festivals and was a Deli Magazine Band of the Month. At their live shows, GREAT TIME's range inspires a kaleidoscope of emotions not to mention dance moves. Fronted by Bay Area native Jill Ryan, their music attracts all types of ears, and is influenced by artists that go as hard as Nirvana, as gentle as Sufjan Stevens, and as dancy as Little Dragon. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, GREAT TIME built a recording studio on a farm outside Philly, where they live and produce themselves and other bands.

"Little Arcs began at the onset of 2017, when three long-time musical collaborators convened at a Chinese restaurant in East Oakland. It was immediately clear that the three were eager to embark on something together, though none knew specifically which musical form it would take. It?s time for the hottest Crescent City Soul, from New Orleans greats Dave Bartholomew, Fats Domino, and a host of other favorites, revitalized by pianist Macy Blackman and his hard-driving band the Mighty Fines. They also feature music from their new CD, ?Friskin? the Whiskers.? Originally from Delaware, Macy Blackman made his professional debut at the age of 12 and has played music most of his life, eventually moving to San Francisco. He put together the Mighty Fines in 2003. Relocated from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Ken ?Snakebite? Jacobs became the band?s baritone saxophonist. Nancy Wright sings and plays tenor sax (she?s worked with everyone from Elvin Bishop to B.B. King), alongside drummer Larry Vann (of Ron Thompson?s Resistors, and Elvin Bishop) and bassist Bing Nathan (Lavay Smith, Lost Weekend).

Sauce Piquante has been playing for Bay Area dancers since 1999, when accordionist Blair Kilpatrick started the band. The group?s high-energy dance tunes and French vocals are rooted in two musical traditions: Cajun and old-time Creole, or, as some call it, early zydeco. Sauce Piquante captures the authentic sound of southern Louisiana?s dance halls, house parties, and church dances while appealing to a contemporary audience. Along with Kilpatrick on accordion and vocals, the band includes fiddler Steve Tabak, guitarist-singer Jim Ruth, bassist-singer Kathy ?KP? Price, and David Hymowitz on drums.

Sauce Piquante was inspired by the late Danny Poullard, the Bay Area accordionist who suggested the group?s name. During more than two decades of Louisiana travels and music camp attendance, band members have been influenced by many other gifted musicians. They have learned from Creole masters (Bois Sec Ardoin, Delton Broussard, Canray Fontenot, Edward Poullard) and legendary Cajun accordionists (Steve Riley, Jesse Lége, Eddie LeJeune, Sheryl Cormier). The band?s debut recording ?Sauce Piquante Live? got a thumbs-up in a Dirty Linen magazine review. Kilpatrick is also the author of ?Accordion Dreams? (University Press of Mississippi, 2009), which documents her musical journey. She and her husband Tabak were among the musicians profiled in ?Zydeco Nation,? a recent public radio documentary about the Louisiana Creole migration to Northern California.

Kizomba is a popular genre of music and partnered dance from Angola. Its is known to be smooth and slow, with grounded movements, danced in a close partner connection. The origin of Kizomba dance comes from Semba, a traditional type of dance and music from Angola known for its energetic movements.
