It's officially been 30 years since Jon Auer & Ken Stringfellow, high school mates from Bellingham WA, USA, recorded and released "Failure", a home recorded, self-released cassette that had the improbable fate of landing the band two commercial radio hits and a record deal w the David Geffen Company, where they became labelmates of Sonic Youth, Nirvana & Teenage Fanclub. Now with a legacy of eight critically lauded albums (their latest, "Solid States" was released in 2016), a loyal population of fans around the globe, and a body of work with such classic alternative/indie anthems as "Dream All Day", "Solar Sister", "Coming Right Along" and many more, the band is still active and looking forward to its fourth decade in music. The band's '90s catalogue is set to be re-released in 2018 by Omnivore Records, and there are plans to start working on a new album soon after. The band has survived the deaths of two longtime members in the last 3 years: bassist Joe Skyward and drummer Darius Minwalla; despite that, they managed to stage a brilliant comeback in 2016 with drummer Frankie Siragusa and do several sold out tours doing pop up shows -- self-produced concerts in improvised venues and unlikely spaces; indie rock raves, if you will.

For their 30th Anniversary, Omnivore Records will re-release the band's crucial 1990s catalog -- "Dear 23", "Frosting on the Beater", and "Amazing Disgrace", as double CDs replete with an astounding number of previously unreleased bonus cuts, and also as double 45 RPM high fidelity LPs. The band is currently running a Pledge Music campaign (https://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/the-posies) for pre-ordering the three albums. Radiohead mentioned to Ken one night out in the pub (in Hollywood, tho) that "Frosting on the Beater" was the most played album in the van during the band's first American tour; Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody & Beach Slang's James Alex, two name but two, have each put that album in their personal top ten. "Frosting" encapsulates all the elements that make the band timeless -- the two-voices-as-one interplay of Auer and Stringfellow; thoughtful and literate lyrics; broiling guitars married to shimmering melodies. If the band was out of step with its more brutal Seattle compatriots 25 years ago, it has served them well -- the times, at last, have caught up to their vision.

To take this celebration around the globe, the Posies, who have had a few lineup changes over the years (always based around the founding duo of Auer & Stringfellow) will be on tour as the 1992-1994 lineup that made "Frosting on the Beater" -- Jon & Ken will be complemented by drummer Mike Musburger and bassist Dave Fox. It's been almost a quarter century since this quartet has been on the road, and recent warm up shows have been as explosive as those played by the twentysomethings of yore. Catch the band on tour this spring in North America, and this fall in Europe -- their time is now, again.

SpaceBand Bio:

SpaceBand is a cover band that focuses on R&B/Hip-hop hits from the 90?s as well as the current, chart-topping dance tunes. To round out their repertoire, SpaceBand tastefully sprinkles in some classic rock, funk, and Motown. Phil Carter on drums and Aeden Hunter on bass provide the solid, funky foundation on which a temple of soul is built with Brian Hillman?s powerful vocals leading the way. Charlie Elmore?s rhythm guitar permeates with warm splendor and Baron Kim?s funky riffs and face-melting solos grab hold of you in a way you can?t shake. Every gig is a party with the seats emptied and the dance floor packed.

SpaceBand has consistently played well-attended shows throughout the Pacific Northwest since 2002. Although they usually provide an entire night of music, SpaceBand has performed opening sets for numerous national touring acts. Whether it?s at a club, private party, or wedding, SpaceBand is sure to keep the good times rollin? and will please even the toughest critics.

Electro Funk is an all out dance party featuring a slew of some of Bellingham?s best DJ?s and producers who will be playing and blending various genres of electronic and funk music paired with stunning visuals. This has been one of the craziest reoccurring dance parties that we have ever had at the Wild Buffalo and there is no cover all night. This Electro Funk will feature Cat Passidy, Party Armz, Trailer Park Noise, Kraymer G Dot, and LilFijBoi.

"Quintron and Miss Pussycat have been making genre-defying noise and hard rocking dance music in New Orleans for over fifteen years. The majority of their 14 full-length albums have the psychedelic soul of traditional New Orleans party music filtered through a tough distorted Hammond B-3 and a cache of self-made electronic instruments.
MISS PUSSYCAT plays maracas and sings, as well as entertaining all age groups with her highly amusing technicolor puppet shows.

Hers are complex puppet shows beautifully crafted for success in intimate venues of late night drinking and dancing: tactile, idiosyncratic characters, pithy dialogue, electronically pixilated soundtracks, and trippy black light effects create a visual and engaging overture/finale to Quintron and Miss Pussycat's music sets. Quintron aids in puppet manipulation and voicing. Miss Pussycat, in turn, sings lead and back-up and plays maracas during Quintron's performances.

Quintron has released strange soundscapes based on inner-city field recordings of frogs and neighborhood ambiance as well as holing himself up in THE NEW ORLEANS MUSEUM OF ART for three months to create the epic "Sucre Du Sauvage" (Goner, 2011). In addition to his own recordings, Quintron has played organ on a number of other records, most notably THE OBLIVIONS "9 Songs" and STEVE RILEY AND THE MAMOU PLAYBOYS "Grand Isle" which was nominated for a Grammy in 2012 and featured the Quintron penned song "Chatterbox".

In the spring of 2014 Quintron and Miss Pusscyat were the chosen to be resident artists at the ROBERT RAUSCHENBERG FOUNDATION. Quintron completed his weather controlled analog drone synthesizer called WEATHER WARLOCK and Miss Pussycat invented an inflatable puppet theater which fits into her purse!

Quintron regards his most significant creation to be a patented instrument called THE DRUM BUDDY, a light activated analog synthesizer which creates murky, low-fidelity, rhythmic patterns. Notable DRUM BUDDY clients include performers Nels Cline of Wilco, Laurie Anderson, Fred Armisen, and DJ Mr. Dibbs.

The Quintron / Miss Pussycat experience is one of barely controlled electronic chaos, "Swamp-Tech" dance beats, small explosions, incredible clothes, and entertaining puppet stories. You can see them perform regularly at the Spellcaster Lodge in New Orleans, Louisiana or on one of their many tours around the world. This act somehow has equal relevance in sleazy nightclubs, pizza restaurants, and university lecture halls."

BACKYARD BISON is a young, clean band from Oak Harbor, WA that produces an
exciting alternative rock sound. Bison covers material from bands like Young
the Giant, Cage the Elephant, Twenty-One Pilots, Two Door Cinema Club, Kings
of Leon, Coin and Walk the Moon with some of Backyard Bison's own original
songs, and a
song or two from The Beatles and Rush thrown in the mix.

They have played many gigs at local venues and have made an appearance in the
Oak Harbor Music Festival two years running. With their youthful energy and a
variety of music, they are always a crowd favorite!

SEED LING is a power duo from the West Coast currently residing in Bend, Oregon. In their recently released EP entitled "Rises and Falls" they blend darkwave and dream pop sounds to create haunting atmospheric music. Over the past year they have been performing on the West Coast. Their fans enjoy an experience that brings them heartbreaking vocals and luscious drums.
