George Porter, Jr. is best known as the bassist of The Meters, along with Art Neville, Leo Nocentelli and Joseph Zigaboo Modeliste. The group was formed in the mid 60's and came to be recognized as one of the progenitors of funk then called R&B. The Meters disbanded in 1977, but reformed in 1989. Today the original group still plays the occasional reunions but the Funky Meters, of which Porter and Neville are still members, most prominently keeps the spirit alive.

Few bass players in the history of modern New Orleans music are as storied as George Porter Jr. During the course of a career spanning more then four decades, Porter has not only made a deep impression with his work in the Meters, but he?s notched session work with artists as diverse as Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffett, David Byrne, Patti LaBelle, Robbie Robertson, Tori Amos, Taj Mahal, Ryan Montbleau and live performances with Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Warren Haynes, John Scofield, Steve Kimock, Eric Krasno (and including recent studio releases with Warren Haynes and Bill Kreutzmann) just to name a few. Early in his career, Porter worked with seminal New Orleans artists like Allen Toussaint, Earl King, Lee Dorsey, and Johnny Adams, Irma Thomas, The Lastie Brothers again to only name a few.

Porter is also the band leader of his own unique long term project the Runnin? Pardners, well respected not only as a quintessential New Orleans band, the touring band continues to receive accolades on the jam band and festival scene. He has assembled some seasoned and talented musicians to join him on this project. Familiar Pardners - Brint Anderson (guitar) and, Michael Lemmler (keyboards) and rising stars on the New Orleans music scene Khris Royal (saxophone) and Terrence Houston (drums). George Porter Jr. plans to keep a smile on his face. ?I feel like I am working towards something that will be remembered.?

Porter has proven to be capable of the ultimate fusion of rock, funk and R&B, and has gained recognition as one of the industry?s elite bass players. He continues to be not only an in demand performing artist but an accomplished studio musician and producer.

Steph Tolev is a hilarious, brash bolt of energy that's a joy every time. You may have seen her on Getting Doug with High, The CBC or a bunch of other places. She now runs SKITS in LA with Denver alum Troy Walker and Caleb Synan. Originally from Toronto, she's so god damn funny and we're lucky to have her.

Joining Steph will be Minori Hinds (back from NY), Dick Black, Derrick Rush and the new host of this show every month starting with THIS show: Mike Stanley!

Steph Tolev is a stand up and sketch comedian from Toronto, Canada. Her unique brand of absurd and personal comedy has made her an audience favorite across North America both on stage and on television. As a stand up, Steph has done the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and featured in a TV Gala as well being part of the Homegrown competition in 2014. She also taped a TV set for the Halifax Comedy Festival that airs on CBC. She was one of the 42 with her sketch duo Ladystache in the Just For Laughs 42 festival in Toronto. During JFL42 she was also a finalist for Sirius XM Radio?s Next Top Comic competition and featured on Andy Kindler?s Alternative show. She was well-received at the acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe Fest, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, San Fran Sketch Fest, Big Sky Festival, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver Sketch Fests, as well as North By North East. She?s also opened for Rob Delaney, Eugene Mirman, Brent Morin, Kyle Kinane, Kurt Braunohler, Todd Glass and appeared on the international show ?Set List.? She won the award for Best Female Stand Up at the Canadian Comedy Awards in 2015 and was nominated for her sketch troupe. Her first stand up album ?Hot N? Hungry? was released this January and hit number one on itunes and had amazing reviews from both the Comedy Network and Exclaim Magazine. Ladystache also released their first full length sketch comedy album through itunes entitled ?So Many Wolves? that had rave reviews from the Comedy Network and also hit number one on itunes.

On TV, Steph?s been featured on Much Music?s ?Video on Trial? and MTV?s ?Losing it?, and had her own stand up special on iChannels program ?No Kidding?. A celebrated member of the Canadian ?Comedy Records? label, she?s performed at numerous colleges and Universities across the country. She is currently living in Los Angles performing all around the city being the grossest Bulgarian in town.

The Trashcan Sinatras are excited to announce an acoustic club tour of North America, where they will play not one, but two albums in their entirety. Following up on 2017?s ?All Night? acoustic tour, where the band played nearly every song from their 30 year catalog, Frank, John and Paul are bringing the ?One Night, Two Albums? tour to North America. The three piece lineup will perform their 1990 debut album Cake, as well as their 1993 follow-up, I?ve Seen Everything, which sees its 25 year anniversary in 2018. The band will fill out their sets with a selection of other songs from their catalog, which will vary from show to show.

Regular tickets and VIP upgrades are now available. VIP upgrades (which do not include a concert ticket) give you a chance for up close and personal time with the band, as well as complimentary exclusive merchandise.

It?s music for the heart, head and feet and saw their album v2.0 (Gondwana Records) named a Mercury Prize album of the year 2014 alongside albums from Damon Albarn, Young Fathers and Jungle. In 2015 they signed to Blue Note Records and released the album Man Made Object in 2016. More recently they have been touring their own score to Godfrey Reggio?s cult film Koyaanisqatsi.

Plowing Into The Field Of Love is the third album from Copenhagen?s Iceage. It is new, bold and forceful. Channeling the rage and emotion of their tempestuous early releases into finely honed musicianship, Plowing Into The Field of Love features piano, mandolin, viola and organ atop Johan Suurballe-Wieth?s razor-sharp guitars and the lolloping, synchronized rhythm section of Jacob Tvilling Pless and Dan Kjær Nielsen. The record has a clear, uncompressed sound, and Elias Bender Rønnenfelt?s desperate vocals are out front, nakedly accountable for the words.
On this album, Rønnenfelt sings of what it is like to be out in the world, dizzy with its offerings, perched on a plateau of false confidence, bliss, fantasy and delirious self-denial. The autobiographical ?Forever,? for which Iceage have shared the video today, begins with a pretty repetitive motif over the words, ?I always had the sense that I was split in two,? and climaxes with a sunburst of horns recalling South African spiritual jazz great Mongezi Feza: ?If I could dive into the other, I?d lose myself forever.? At the other extreme, the album evokes a sort of euphoria, especially in the unexpectedly upbeat country number ?The Lord?s Favorite.? Yet desperation and loss lurks behind. This is an album about seeing, learning, and rejecting things, in a cycle that repeats and builds. The reference points are wildly varied, but the sound is uniquely and darkly Iceage as the record fights with itself, in the story it tells, and the sound it makes. It is not, however, a remotely difficult record. It is the anthemic sound of a band in motion, unafraid of change, filled with curiosity, musicality and ambition.
