Kelly Willis takes the stage at Natalie?s to celebrate and support ?Back Being Blue?, her first solo album in over a decade. With rockabilly roots and a heartache-meets-honky-tonk voice, Kelly has been labeled a country ingénue. As a new traditionalist, Kelly Willis is the alluring voice and songwriting talent who pioneered both Americana and the Texas young country scene with her debut album in 1990, and has since over the course of five more gems proven how she can do it all from contemporary to traditional and beyond with finesse, smarts and irresistible charm.

Natalie?s presents Peter Rowan?s Twang an? Groove, a very special evening of music featuring GRAMMY award winner and six time GRAMMY nominee Peter Rowan (guitar,vocals) and his great band consisting of Dave Easley (pedal steel), Jamie Oldaker (percussion), and Paul Knight (bass). Peter Rowan is a bluegrass singer-songwriter with a career spanning over five decades. From his early years playing under the tutelage of bluegrass patriarch Bill Monroe, Peter?s stint in Old & In the Way with Jerry Garcia and his subsequent breakout as both a solo performer and bandleader, Rowan has built a devoted, international fan base through his continuous stream of original recordings, collaborative projects, and constant touring.

Eilen Jewell laughs when told her label?s president called her a musicologist. But she confirms she and her husband and bandmate, Jason Beek, have a passion for studying American music. ?We really love to uncover the past. It?s almost like digging for buried treasure,? she says. ?For me, that?s where music is at. I like all kinds of music as long as there?s the word early in front of it.?

For her latest album, Down Hearted Blues, they unearthed 12 vintage gems written or made famous by an array of artists both renowned and obscure, from Willie Dixon and Memphis Minnie to Charles Sheffield and Betty James. Then, like expert stonecutters, they chiseled them into exciting new shapes and forms, honoring history while breathing new life into each discovery.

Known for what allmusic.com describes as a ?country-flavored and blues-infused version of contemporary folk (which also can include healthy doses of rockabilly and surf),? Jewell?s discography includes several albums of original material and one of Loretta Lynn covers. Jewell has also recorded two albums with her eight-piece gospel-group side project the Sacred Shakers. She will perform at Natalie?s with her tight quartet, including outstanding guitarist Jerry Miller, drummer Jason Beek, and bassist Shawn Supra.

Based out of New Orleans for the past couple of decades, the Iguanas define a sound of Americana that crosses cultures, styles, eras? and even languages. Combine the Franco Acadian inflections of Canada (as best exemplified by the accordion), Blues and Jazz, (the only truly indigenous music the US has ever produced), and the lilting grace and fiery passion of the music of Mexico, and you?d have New Orleans' premiere distillers of this continental musical melange, The Iguanas. Collectively or individually, the members of the Iguanas have played or recorded with everyone from Charlie Rich, Alex Chilton, and Willy DeVille to Emmylou Harris, Allen Toussaint and Pretty Lights.

Their two decade ride has taken them all over the map musically and geographically, yet the inescapable patina of their hometown infuses every note they play. Through eight studio albums, countless tours and Jazz Fest appearances, and a flood that did its best to take their adopted city with it, it's a testament to the band's endurance that the same four guys that started playing in the early 1990s are still together. Joe Cabral is philosophical about the band's persistence in the face of challenges that would have felled indeed have felled lesser bands. ?First of all, this is all we know how to do; we're musicians. But more than that,? he continues, ?we respect the power of the band as an entity, and each individual in the band steps up to play his part. When it's good, that's really what it's all about.?

Rod Hodges agrees. ?I don't want to get all heady and mystical about this, but it's not really an outward reward we're looking for. We all enjoy playing music, we all get along, and finding a group of people who can say that after all this time is a rare thing.?

Sarah Borges returns to Natalie?s with her great band The Broken Singles. Borges is an alluring figure onstage, delivering performances packed with power and punch. Born to play rock ?n? roll, she gives herself fully -- much to the audience's pleasure. Based in Boston, Sarah has drawn praise from the most elite of music scribes, including Rolling Stone, The New York Times, USA Today, Creative Loafing and The Boston Globe. Whether it be through performances or her writing, Borges has learned to dazzle ? and do it well. That ability can be heard all over her 2014 Radio Sweetheart disc, as well as her latest, Good and Dirty. She attributes that ability to a very eclectic sound, which she comes by naturally, she says. ?I would say that my sound is straight up rock and roll, but it?s the sum total of what my record collection looks like?.

Morgan Treni & The Landscapes is an American rock band formed by singer/songwriter, Morgan Treni. Led by Treni's psychedelic and raw vocals, Morgan Treni & The Landscapes designs performances that inspire people through soulful lyrics and adventuresome melodies.

Treni attributes the start of The Landscapes and songwriting to "Old Blue," a trusty '96 Volvo that taught her about listening on the open road. Publishing English papers transformed into writing songs, and since college, Morgan Treni & The Landscapes has been pushing toward that world of music.

Their second record, "Alphabet City," will release on June 1, 2018 underneath LobsterStage Records.
