Join us at Subterranean in Chicago to witness Illinois' best air guitarists battle it out to find which of them will represent Chicago in the US Air Guitar National Finals! Part rock show. Part comedy act. Part spectacle. US Air Guitar allows ordinary people to become ROCK STARS! Up to 20 competitors give us their best air guitar performances, being judged on technical merit, stage presence, and AIRNESS, to crown one winner. That winner will move onto the NATIONAL FINALS, held in NEW YORK CITY!

Montreal?s heavy and atmospheric post-rock group BIG|BRAVE find their way to the Bottle after releasing a brand new EP, Ardor, off the famed Southern Lord Recordings this year (the first Quebec band to do so). Relying heavily on a foundation built by reverb and overdrive, BIG|BRAVE finds their best selves when they play alongside the energy of the crowd, pulsating with drummer, LOUIS BEAUREGARD and implementing ethereal feedback to fill every gap in the listeners head with distortion. Hypnotic, stunning and monolithic artist LINGUA IGNOTA commands our stage with their ever-present devilish wrath. Recorded and performed by Kristin Hayter in Rhode Island, LINGUA IGNOTA conjures experimental industrial that reckons true vengeance steaming within us all.

Ever so present BRIGID MAE POWER from Ireland weathers through the states to make it on our stage for the first time. Her passion and sincerity bleeds through every downtrodden chord, releasing a little bit of self-discovery with each stroke. POWER?s self-titled debut, released on Tompkins Square in 2016, received wide praise from UNCUT, The Guardian, Irish Times and was featured on NPR World Cafe. Her most recent album, The Two Worlds, came out this year and was written in her hometown of Galway, Ireland. The record touches on lost friendships, discarding unwanted memories and finding the balance that we?re all searching for. Hopefully a little POWER will rub off on us tonight.
